I HATE how Mcafee and Norton give you a complimentary 365 day free virus updates but then you have to pay later.
Can anyone suggest a good anti virus that works for 2000 and XP? I tried using Panada but holy shit did that slow down my computer in bootup and logging off
Anti virus proggies
Re: Anti virus proggies
whenever i run out of a trial period on a prog i just reinstall. about panda, my mom was runnin that when i had the board on her computer... and i will agree, it slowed everything down to almost a complete stop. i deleted that thing while she was sleepin, and she never said a word. heh.
Re: Anti virus proggies
Go to www.softseek.com and downlaod Big Fix, when your updates are out od date it connects directly to the FTP server where the definitions are located and updates them for you w/o going thru there lame ass site. I've dont it before.

After your norton trial runs out you can just uninstall it then reinstall it... bam another 365 days. That is if you don't end up with a newer version sometime during that first year... which I generally do anyhow.
