Look, my dear Erek... I love the fact that you can debate, and at the same time provide sound intellectual points but this is not about you or me or academics. This is about the forum. I will defend FHQ because I like it here. You may think I get some kind of special treatment because I am the girlfriend of invisi, but he has deleted MANY of my posts... he has no problem moderating me.... and I have no problem with him doing it. I was a member here LONG before he and I were ever an item. So now that is cleared up, I want to really express my point more clearly:



Using swear words, negativity, and put-downs covered up in semantics is not ok. You cannot use such forceful language to demand people conform to your standards. Please re-read your original post and consider 1) what you want to come of it (i.e. the constructiveness of it) and 2) consider the best way to accomplish that. Will you get intellectual discussion or academic debate with such statements as "fuck all this artsy subjective bullshit" or "utter garbage is spewed here with absolutely no backing of what you're saying." Why would someone want to backup their 'garbage' or 'bullshit'. Why would someone want prove the validity of their 'artsy subjective bullshit' when it is clear you are not even open to the discussion of it or willing to conjecture some validity to that point of view. I ask that you try to be constructive while respecting other people on this forum and their point of view. I think you could add a lot to such a discussion if you would just stop using put-downs and swear words/aggressive language in your posts.



Erek if you want a positive response to your posts, you need to put forth an idea in a positive way. If you only 'spew' forth negativity, that is all you will get in return.

Actually erek, I'm all for leaving it open. I am very pleased to see a discussion like this taking place. I will NOT delete or close this thread, this actually is turning out to be a decent intellectual conversation.
