LJN and Mod9 [Archive] - ForumsHQ

Post by Chronic »

While LJN may not be able to edit those new mod9 databases, it can still be useful. Want a mod9 realm where monsters dont enter the room when you look a direction? or the store items regen properly? or high druid/dao lord regen? the apparatis quest works more than once? alder chest regens normally? LJN can easily give you all this. LJN/Advanced Features/Create Update DB will compile your edited databases into a wccupda2.dat file, which fixes many issues with edited boards. I was curious and tested it out with v1.11i and it worked perfectly. Loaded the update db without a hitch.

So basically it compiles everything I have in the directory to one update - so I basically want to make sure all my files are fresh before I create, correct?

Basically...

No more need for cracking your dll to exclude the update file check because it remakes the file from all your edited ones!

Has anyone else tried making that update file? *I made a monster dat file with the exp 2x (mod9 - 1.11i). *when i made the update file it still got overwritten, and worldgroup hung completey (couldn't even stop the service, had to reboot). *do i need to delete/copy over the .VIR files as well?

thanks,

matt

Thats the least of your worries - I made a backup file and it fucked with all my attack messages, and proceeded to change all items listed in ALL shops to copper: ex: if a fine broadsword was 100 platinum, it is now 100 copper.

100 runic for the white gold house? Bah - we'll let it go for one gold....

*sigh*

I might have to reinstall....

just to confirm -- this does in fact happen. *I did this tonight and i got the same results. *the DB did get created (had to have a empty file there first), and the edits did stay after the update finished ... but I also had the attack messages and copper in shops (i luckily made a backup before I did it though ).

so you CANNOT us LJN to make an update file for mod9

p.s. the order i did it in: delete update file, make edits, create update file, run offline db recovery, launch board
