is it for your parents or something? i would never buy a brand name computer (laptops obviously are a different story) for myself. you can always piece together quality brand-name parts for the same and usually cheaper yourself. the only reason to buy retail brand name computers is when you need a warranty and tech support. if you still do decide to buy a dell, look for coupon codes online at places like slickdeals.



edit: LOL, i should click the link or maybe at least notice the "M" in the processor version before posting next time :P. but what i said about slickdeals is still true, especially for laptops. there was just a $600 off of $1500 coupon that expired last week. i got my 9100 for $1600 - $750 coupon from SD about 6 months ago.

FYI syntax, dell's $750 off 1500 is a hoax. i priced the same EXACT pieces for the 750 off 1500 sale they had last month and it ended up being ~1450 AFTER the 750 off for the same laptop.

the 256MB NVIDA® GeForce™ Go 6800 is a full flegded desktop video card (not physically ofcourse). it doesn't use shared system ram as video ram and doesn't have a crippled memory interface or pixel pipelines/vertex pipelines. the 256MB of DDR is 100% dedicated to the video card along with a 256-Bit interface. the GPU is a higher quality sample over the Desktop versions that are capable of operating at the same frequency with much lower voltages and enhanced power saving abilities.
