Disapearing rooms.

Post by ruiner »

Well I fixed the btrieve errors and got back to editing and now I'm finding mud keeps deleting the exits from the original mud rooms that connect to my new areas. It doesn't mess up any of the rooms, everything stays the same and you can still exit back into the original rooms the same way but the exits going in disapear and when I take the board down and check, sure enough they're no longer connecting.

I've edited it back in a few times and it does it everytime. I've tried running offline recoveries after I edit it and the problem still remains so I'm lost. Any help would be appreciated.

sounds to me like you aren't compiling an update file. which means mud is overwriting all the built in records with what is in the update file. read the general help in NMR.

Sorry, excuse my noob'ing. Guess I misinterpreted it wrong when I was skimming thru for an answer, thought I read I didn't need to do any kind of updating or compiling if I was editing the files directly. Thanks again.
