You're not missing much. The dealers will outbid you on all the really clean cars (the off-lease cars and rental retirees), then the smaller lots will outbid you on the decent ones that need work. Even the 'okay' salvage title stuff will get bought up by the local flybynite bodyshops.
You're not going to save much (if any) above keeping an eye out in your local paper, and you're more likely to get stuck with a serious beater if you don't pony up some bucks.
You've seen the tv ads late at night - "a Jeep for only $25!!!". Yeah, a Jeep that needs everything replaced except the radiator cap. :wordup:
