WGS can't handle burps

My router or ISP burps at a certain time of day at least once and all my users are, obviously, booted. The 'net outage lasts all of 3 seconds. Yeah, fine...3 seconds down a day. whatever. The problem is this: My users can't reconnect to the board after the burp until I close and restart WGServer. I'm currently combating this by running a dip as close to the burp as possible so people can connect after it strikes. The burp likes to shift times every couple weeks, too. For instance, it'll be at 2:03am sharp for 2 weeks then shift to 4:24am for a few weeks. Pain. In. My. Ass.

Perhaps the "burp" could be your DHCP lease being renewed (ie, re-leasing your dynamic IP address). That would explain why it happens at regular intervals of time, if your system is getting 24-hour leases at a time for your IP address.



This could be at the ISP side (ie, your router obtaining an IP from your ISP), in which case you wouldn't be able to do anything about it I think. Or it could be on your router's side (ie, your computer getting a LAN IP from your router), in which case you should be able to configure your router to give static LAN IPs.



Dunno if DHCP is even the problem, but if its the latter thing, that should stop the burps from happening...

all you have to do is restart wgserver? that's kinda weird if you're using a router. if so i'd do what evan suggested and assign a static IP if you haven't already. since all you need to do is restart WG it would seem to me that it is something with your NIC either briefly reseting it self or like evan said getting a new IP. WG does bind to an IP address and maybe if it loses it for a second it wont re-bind.



also, check what you have your IPADDR set to in WG General Setup --> TCP/IP Settings --> IPADDR. It should be on AUTO. if you have it on auto, and you aren't using a router w/static ip then try setting it to the IP your cable modem gives you.
