Well, to start; I'm Exodus. Some of you may remember me, probably dont. I've hexed for about 2-3 years straight, but haven't done so in about a year now. I talked to MrBlack before about hexing, but lost track of him. Anyway...
I think this may make me seem like a "lamer" or "noob", but I say screw hexing. I did plenty of hexing in my time. Using Nightmare, would someone mind giving me detailed descriptions of how to:
1. Make rooms/areas with my own monsters and the like.
2. Add crypt quests for my new classes
3. Add new spells and make them work only for the class they should(I was thinking about making the spells item class only so only that class could purchase and use it)
If anyone has a "all-in-one" guide I could use(I know SOMEONE must have all their hexing research documented), I'd really appreciate that as well.
Thanks.

Ok, I assume if your wanting to make new crypt quest areas you have new classes, right?
Ok, first off, draw yourself a map, you need maps to know what your adding to the existing areas
You'll need to number the new rooms too, and add them to a map, add them to map 1, since thats the map that the existing crypts are in, just make sure your room #'s are much higher than any other existing rooms #'s. add and edit them. Once you get them in, do a quick run through them and make sure they all go to the correct rooms and such...once you know they do, edit them to be class only exits to keep your other classes out...
Do the same thing to make your own areas...always test run thru them to make sure they are all done properly. You can add the monster area tags at any point, but if you wait till after you've tested them, it's easier to run thru them
Adding spells...its not that hard...create a spell, and create a scroll (item) to associate it with. The scoll is what you limit to a specific class. The spell is also limited to class, but you limit the item so that somone can't just read it (you can still learn a spell that your class isnt supposed to have if the scroll int limited to a class )
When working with magic types...just remember, mystic magic is a completely diferent setup...mystic taggedspells are automatically given at level, so be careful.
Hope this was helpful. And nitmare still sucks ballz

Re: Need a little bit of help [Archive] - ForumsHQ
I tried adding a poison-type spell to a weapon(dont know if its the cause), but when I click on the item in nightmare editor, I get a runtime error. WTF? Is this cuz Nightmare is shitty? If so, what shoulnd't I be doing?
Re: Need a little bit of help [Archive] - ForumsHQ
Ive had that problem before sometimes when I made a fuckup in editing.. dont remember exactly what, but i think i just kept trying till it got around the runtime, or just reinstalled nm.. dunno if that helps, but at least you get a little bump =)
