Trying to find a way to add a new class of spells, ie: you have mage,priest,druid, kai etc, how do i create a new spell catagory?

That is beyond the scope of of basic hex editing ;)
In order to do this, you would need access to the source and edit it there. If you want a magic class along the lines of one of the other three (don't do kai, for reasons I'll point out in a min) Then decide which. If you want a class based on int then use the mage and just restrict the spell scrolls of mages to mage classes and the scrolls to your new class to that class. This works with all the magic castes, except kai. Kai gives its spells to you at the level, so theres no way to restrict the issuance of them, but if you can figure it out, then go right ahead...just too big of a pain to try, i spent a month workin on that one...
