crash after every new character [Archive] - ForumsHQ

I'll reroll my character, then go in and edit him some new items, give him some new abilities, etc...



Everytime I do this, the first monster I attack, whamo the board crashes with an AV. After it recovers, everything works fine, I can edit the user all I want with no problems.



Reroll, train, edit items in, crash.



Any idea ?

is this is just a test board for yourself (e.g. there aren't real players playing)? and do you have any new classes?

Yeah it is just a test board for me, no, no new anything, just playing with different character/equipment combinations.

yeah it's a known issue. i thought it was mainly when there were new classes involved, but maybe it's just when a 'special' dll is being used. easy way around it: create a dummy character that just sits there on the top list. give it some exp by killing a monster too. i've also heard reports of boards crashing when the #1 player rerolls, so maybe give it a lot of exp if it still happens with a dummy char.
