Slums Problems

Post by Relorian »

Ok, im runnin megamud 1.03s (and i've done a full clean install for t as well and have this problem). The server i play on uses Version I.... i keep getting lost in the slums when tryin to go to the western door, or anywhere for that matter... i cant even get the orc mansion. Does anyone have the correct path files for this shit under an I system?

I wasnt playin by hand, i was using megamud.... but untill i realized that the Ancient chime was causing my navagation errors i had to walk my happy lil ass back to the crossroads by hand... after i figured that out i was able to fix the path files.

Also... the board i play on doesnt have a sys map function available to all players, so thanks man.

sorry to be a dick, and i'm not trying to flame you, but really man. you shouldn't need sys map to get around the slums.

i haven't been in a majormud game in over 3 years and *I* still know how to get to those areas.

...hell, I could probably still navigate my way through the labyrinth to the mino champ in under 10 mins without a map or clues. If you've walked an area by hand a few times, you'll know it.

turn off mega, throw away your maps, dont use sys map, and explore the game by hand a little bit. otherwise, whats the point of playing a MUD that you know nothing about?

you could use maps on the internet...they're practically as good as sys map

It's so much more convenient to be able to walk virtually everywhere in the realm by hand w/o maps. Just take the time to run around a little w/o megamud on.

man ... you people are rough. i think the guy knows his way around the slums, he was saying megamud gets lost and wanted working path files. yeah, he could fix that one path manually by recording a new one but it sounds like there are probably a number of others that are bad too. it gets annoying when you just want to tell mega to go somewhere simple it and ends up getting lost.
