Making an XP batch file for cleanup

A friend needs to figure out how to make a batch file to back up mud files at cleanup on xp.. He has one that works for 98 fine but not on xp

there is a timed events or something similar to it in the control panels, he could create a .bat file and have it invoke it at those timed events... 'course the board would probably have to be down
