Once again, not sure where this thread should be put, but nonsense sounded pretty close.
Whatever happened to the days where script killing was lame? Whatever happened to honorable combat? Why do people who kill your script love to brag about it and lord it over you that they were able to hang/kill your non-intelligent script? I think it's lame as hell.. ::sigh:: Maybe it's just me..

The -exact- reason why I don't play the game much any more. I don't have time to pvp. An effective pvp match takes hours, if not days. When I was in high school (especially during the summer, when I didn't have a job, or responsibility), I could set camp right where someone hung up, and just wait for them to enter. Sometimes it would be days. I could sit there for 16 hours straight if I had to, only stopping to piss and grab food real quick. If I had to sleep, I set up my qmodem script to bs whoever when they entered, and beep to hell so I wake up.
I just don't have that kind of time now. At any second I want to get up and do something else, I want to have the freedom to do that. Not sitting around waiting for someone to enter, or scouring the realm to kill someone.
Also, I hate waking up in the morning to a hung script because someone's got a hard on to hit people. I don't have the time before I go to work to fix it, and I don't want to fix it when I get off work. It's too much of a hassle.
Script killers suck. I don't really care about how quickly I make levels, or my equipment, but I'll be damned if I want to have to check my computer three+ times a day to see if I'm still on.

I love it. I attack people when they're at keys and they hang. I go to sleep and they kill me because I don't hang in pvp, it's the pussy way out. When I come to keys they run and hide. It's great. Legion was fun for awhile but script killing is exactly why I quit. Constantly having to reequip myself takes too much time and keeps me from focusing on the more important issue... redoing Sinister.

Whoa, i thought i was the only one who did that hehe.. PVP used to be fun.. back when it was hard to script above lvl 20 cause of dialup restrictions by parents, and an overwhelming urge to kick the hell out of someone 10 levels higher than you. Them were the days.

Now that i think about it. To this day a friend i used to have hates me because i sat for 24 hours in a room waiting for him to come back after attacking him on one of my killing streaks. Sad really.. but i was a prick in them days.

We used to put newbies through newbie orientation. If they could stand being killed at least twice without bitching furiously, I'd lay off. I was only like 15 at the time. Even back then, I drifted from gang to gang, even though there were only two. I usually had my own gang, consisting of just me, but I also knew who I could trust and who I could call on for help. My last name was always "NeWBieHuNTeR" since I was the only one willing to cloud on a daily basis. I think I've drifted away from Mud so much because I miss them days, we were spoiled. We used to spar, people of all levels, throughout town. We'd kill eachother, and know that we could walk back, laugh, and grab our gear. Lvl 5s, lvl 20s, even the high ass lvl 30 and 40 people (later on, towards the demise of dialup). People that have never played on a close-knit local dialup board have never truly played the game. I still remember my lvl 13 darkelf priest, with more mana than HP, saying "There are birds that give 600 exp!?!? Where!? I've never seen them!" Ahhh... my first day killing Rocs with my online-girlfriend Gwyneth, a lvl 6 warrior, and the guy she was online-cheating-on-me-with, who I can't remember the name of, a lvl 8 paladin. Such good times.

Ahh, the joys of a private BBS. No one script kills anyone, no pvp as of late..people at keys a lot, boss runs all the time.
Dial-up days were the best..but that can never happen again, that whole state-of-mind of BBSing has died.
