I'm thinking about toying around with Linux again this summer. I ran RedHat (5.1 I believe) for awhile.



*Other* than RedHat, what distribution do you guys recommend and why?



I'm looking for ease of installation, compatibility with most new hardware (bought my computer less than a year ago, would like it to recognize my printer/soundard etc fairly easily) ..



And of course, it's got to be free and available for download :)



I've heard Debian is good?
