Hey guys,
I haven't been to this forum for a long time, I think it was september of 2002. A few things have changed, the board still looks great, although I think I was partial to the green monster.
I ran into a problem with 1.11i, the altar at the pastor's isn't regening after being destroyed durring the evil quest and I can't seem to get the mage to pop-up so I can kill him. I've been out of mud since september, so I haven't really looked into this problem since; however circumstances have changed and I find myself the brand new mud editor and person to be blamed if anything in the damn game doesn't work. I always thought it was a problem with our wccupdat2.dat file, however I could never got it fixed correctly. Whatever info you guys can help me out with would be appreciated.

Asking for help with 1.11i
Re: Asking for help with 1.11i
Open the room the mage pops in with megamud and force him to be there. Kill him, and see if he pops next time.
Re: Asking for help with 1.11i
or save your user dat and reinstall mud..I'm guessing your mud is either legit or very lightly edited, in that case you can just re-edit (like if it's just exp) or save the dat's edited and put them back in when you reinstall.
Make sure you're using NightMare Redux, and make sure you compile an update file. If you don't, you will have problems.

just an FYI for everyone ... the ONLY differences between the dats is the following:
1. v1.11h and v1.11i do not have the exp multiplier field, v1.11J+ does.
2. versions H, I, K, and M have one textblock key, version J has it's own, and version L has it's own.
with that said, the only real problems in selecting the wrong datfile would be a) monster exp could be read wrong, and b) you wouldn't be able to call specific textblocks. I say in the warning message "change to avoid corruption" because people tend to ignore error messages that don't sound fatal and if one forgot to change the setting it could screw them up.
when NMR loads, it checks to see if the textblock key works (key being like a 'primary key' used to call specific records) and also checks to make sure the first monster has an exp multiplier value of 1 or greater if the datfile version is v1.11J or greater.
just wanted to give people a learn on about what is technically different.
