incoming telnet on win2k [Archive] - ForumsHQ

For some reason I am the only one that can connect to my bbs when im running it under win2k, ive allowed my network user to connect and i can ping the dns name with success. But anyone but myself cannot connect to the bbs.



Anyone have ideas or nething?

my computer name is nice so anyone on my network that does



start>run>telnet nice



can connect to it. and my local ip is 192.168.1.101 so anyone within my network that does



start>run>telnet 192.168.1.101



can also connect to it. that help?

not really, theres no firewall enabled and it worked last time I installed win2k just this time it wouldnt let anyone else connect, from local or internet.



I just reinstalled XP (fun) so ill give it a go again, im getting a new comp soon so ill try it on that while its under test stages ;)

Let me see if i understand. Noone can connect outside your internal network? Or noone but the machine running the BBS can connect. Are you using NAT? What route does the machine running the BBS use to connect to the internet?

only the machine with the bbs can connect. I dunno about the NAT thing, and the bbs machine is using the usb modem attached to it
