WG's webserver

I was just wondering if there is any way to make the WG webserver work at www.domain.com instead of http://domain.com, without paying anyone any money. Example...



My BBS runs at mudmania.kicks-ass.org, and i'd like to make a web page at www.mudmania.kicks-ass.org, instead of http://mudmania.kicks-ass.org. Any help would be appreciamagated.

that's a dns thing. if you run your own dns server, think WG does have one, add a host (an 'A' record) for www.mudmania.kicks-ass.org and set the ip for it to either your ip of the WG server or your outside IP (if not the same). i'm not sure which one would make it work.

Where can I set up WG's DNS server at? I haven't seen any configs for that.

i only saw a "dns resolver" and it doesn't look like it has the kinda options for a full dns server. i guess it doesn't come with it. can you register "www.mudmania" with kicks-ass.org ??

No, I can't. They don't allow the www. to go into the DNS. sigh. Any other ideas? know of a free DNS server program?

go download the webserver for Wg and then get the crack.. its called WebBlaster Pro or sumshit like that..

When you log into the dns account look for an option to make it accept wildcards. I think that would allow anything in front of your domain www or whatever anyone types in. Not for sure but I believe thats how it works.

you to open up the "Wildcard" feature of the kicks-ass.org dns provider... thats how I got all my ugbbs.kicks-ass.org stuff....
