well, if you're allowed more than 1 ip, get a decent 4 port switch (they usually only come in like intervals of 4) and hook 'em up that way.

or, if you're like most cable users and you have to pay for different ips, get a 4 port router (they're like $40-80) and route 'em that way. you might consider wireless, althought that's quite more expensive and less secure.

you have to use a router if you're only dealing with 1 ip and looking to connect all of them to the net. Unless you pay for more ip's.

Any recommendations on a good router? I'm thinking of switching to a cable connection and will need to split it between 2 or 3 computers and have no clue how to do it, so an easy one is best.. thanks :)

I bought a 4port router, Its a Linksys, wireless too...it works great..seeing is how I have never even touched a router untill I go this one...it was easy to setup. You can get the thing for around $110-$130 now.

3 Computers in 1 room run off the switch built into the router, and 1 computer downstairs running off a wireless NIC.

Wireless NIC cost about $70 when I got mine. Its a Linksys also I believe.

ONLY problem with the Linksys I have...is I sometimes cant direct connect to people over AIM. Not sure why...oh well.
