is there a way to locate items (lims) or by name? my chars died and i wanna try and find their gear....but the died when my puter locked up so no clue where

all you need is one item that is limited, and the rest are with it....



in other words, no.

I went back into nightmare, and reset the ebony ninjato to lim 1, and still no dice on the sys list limited_items command...

That's a bug in mud. Most things dont show up on sys list lim until they are acquired.
