Need some advice...
Why do they have caps for stats? I agree...I would limit it to about 200..
but lets say this..
in real life
Whatever race you are...(all human I know)
You might learn slower(lower base stat, so it takes longer-more levels to raise the stat), but you CAN still get there, in whatever you are learning. Unless you have some mental problems, but we are talking about a normal Human, as in MMud, we dont have mental characters, just mental players :P
So, if they have a base stat of about 30 or so..and they want to get it to 130+, then fine...it will just take a lot of levels, I am not gonna do the math..but if someone had a 30 base stat, I have no idea when they would be able to have it at 200...I am just saying, why even bother capping them? Its their CPs...just makes the game more realistic.
Anyway...if they wanted that stay raised...should have chosen a different race :)
Moving all the cap of the stats to 200
Re: Moving all the cap of the stats to 200
Majormud is not intended to be realistic in any way. You can probably see this. The caps are intended to make it so that some races are better equipped at things than others. It balances things much better. If you have a mage with a base intellect of 20 or whatever it is for a halfogre, and +1 hp/level, I'd choose that one. Once you remove the stat cap, you base race decision upon what extra abilities the race has. That's not how it should be. The stat caps are there for a reason, and it is a valid reason.
Re: Moving all the cap of the stats to 200
except for the fact that that the base stat is 30, and to be a good mage, you need a lot of int..and by the time you get int to 100+, you have had no CPs on anything else...it would take all your cps, and you still wont be as good as the next mage, at the same level with a different race.
Re: Moving all the cap of the stats to 200
In the grand scheme of things, at level 50, with the 60 strength you would need to wield your vortex staff, and the 100 health you would need to survive, you'd have the extra cps to put into your intellect. It all balances out since your base str is 70 strength you have extra cps and your base health is 60 you'd have some extra cps to throw around. It wouldn't balance out evenly, but then you would have to throw into account the bonuses you'd get. As a mage, I'd rather wait til lvl 45 to get good stats with +1 hp/level than have a goblin with the same stats at lvl 35 without the +1 hp/level. In the end it all boils down to personal preference.
