Ok..running WG in Windows XP(WG starts at startup)

Post by Brunt »

Ok, it runs fine...bbs runs fine, mmud runs fine...my Q is..

It starts whenever windows starts...now the problem is, I dont have a graphics interface to shut it down or anything. I have to telnet in, and shut it down from the Sysop User-ID. After that, I can start it back up, and I get the window. I can also go into task manager and end task it, but then I get corrupt files...so I just telnet. Any ideas how to stop it from loading at start up? OR, make it display the window? I want it to start at start up, but I need to see whats going on.

in windows xp go to run and type in msconfig, then go to the startup tab and uncheck wg from there

That would work too...but I would like it to start when windows starts...its just that..

If it starts when windows starts, I can see it open in task manager, but no window, I have to telnet to it, and close it from the sysop user-id

If I start it from the .exe or a shortcut, I get the window, and can shut it down from the menu

Either way, it runs fine..I just dont have the window when it loads with windows

Another thing...I notice when I start it from the .exe, it only uses about 4-5k of ram, when it starts with windows...it uses 19-20k of ram...???

it's because it loads before windows optimizes its flux capacitor ram storage system (FCRSS) and therefore requires more of it's roomativity...

in other words, noone knows and noone cares. it's fuckin 20k of ram, who gives a rat's ass.
