New Member with most likely a basic question.

Post by Apollo »

Hey there guys,

Well I just installed 1.11i on my system. And it seems to work so far. (I havn't really tried editing it too much yet, I'm sure I'll have more problems with that. :D )

But I'm having 2 issues with it so far..

1. I can't find where to let the users reach 10 levels before they have to train. (MMUD default is just over 1 level I think.)

2. I'm having problems allowing the normal user class the ability to sys goto and sys map.

I'm sure these are extreamly basic, and I'm prolly just an idiot

But thanks for the help.

I'll take this one fellaz.....

1: its in the WorldGroup General Setup program. under something called "XTRALVL: Extral levles of exp b4 training" - you can go up to 16 but i would suggest only 9!

2: you have to give ALL users the GAMEOP key (in "security and accounting") by default its WCCGAMEOP - then u have to setup your wccmmud.ini file with something like this

SYS_LIGHTNING_KEY=power

SYS_STATUS_KEY=power

SYS_ADDLIFE_KEY=power

SYS_RETRAIN_KEY=power

SYS_ALIGNMENT_KEY=power

SYS_EDITEVIL_KEY=power

SYS_SPEAK_KEY=power

SYS_LISTUSER_KEY=power

SYS_LISTLIMIT_KEY=power

SYS_USERINFO_KEY=power

SYS_JAIL_KEY=power

SYS_CHANGE_KEY=power

SYS_BUFFERS_KEY=power

SYS_CLEARSUICIDE_KEY=power

SYS_REPORT_KEY=power

SYS_TOPTEN_KEY=power

SYS_DISBAND_KEY=power

EXP_IN_TOPGANGS=1

..ok.. now all normal users will be able to sys goto and sys map, but only a CLASS with the POWER key, will be able to use those listed in your wccmmud.ini.

what he said :wstupid:

I don't know what's up with 9 levels, but set it at 10 and don't go above it or higher level players will have problems gaining exp after a certain point ;)

er.. I was having a ton of problems letting people into mud.. but I finally got it to work w/o having gameop key.. the basic key required to play mud is 'paying' if you go into the sysop menu (most likely 's' from the main) then 'account' 'class' 'user' just type in 'paying' when it asks which key you'd like to add.. that should solve many probs :)

You never said people couldn't get in. That is a whole different problem, or situation. The two questions you asked has nothing to do with getting people in, but how to use sys commands and train more than one level at the time. So are you still having trouble or did you just ask the wrong questions in the beginning?

Yup the only 2 big problems I had was the exp level and allowing the sys goto and sys map keys for every player.

But that is not a problem anymore. Grin,

Thanks to AdmiralAcid. It works great now.

I never thought of just leaving the sys goto and sys map off the INI file. Doh!!

But thanks again guys. Now on to the more fun aspects of editing the durn thing. :D

But those are questions for a different thread. ;)

Thanks again,

Apollo
