The mysteries of life...are we alone in this universe? Is there really a god? Is this our only life that we live? If so, do we all goto heaven, or hell? Is there such a place as heave, or hell?

If this isn't our only life, do we reincarnate as other animals, as other humans, or another race on another planet?

What is the purpose of our being here? Is it to spread joy and love? or spread misery and pain? WHY?

Jesus had the power to resurrect himself, and said that we too "have the power to do this and much more"

What did he mean? Can we be resurrected? Can we pass through walls or form a secondary body and travel about in two places at once? Can we travel astrally?

Please, feel free to post answers or questions...

It is so hard to realate to any topic like these. I mean people belive in god but also they belive in the big bang. But those both are differnt storys. I think There is a god but I also think the could have been the big bang. We have proven that there could have been a big bang but have we really proved there is a god. beside when somthing good happens they says oh it was god and when something bad happens it was the devil. but couldn't all just be for every acction there is a equal or greater reacction. who know. maybe only time will tell. I think if we are they only species out there that is a offle lot waste of space right

i hold that you can't know any of that. what anyone will say will simply be opinion, even if they have experience or revelation. you can't know answers to ANY of those questions. also, however, there is no relative truth. what is true for one person, is true for every person. to say otherwise is ridiculous, and i'm sure everyone knows that.

personally, i believe god created the earth and the universe. we are part of his plan. there needed to be sin so that he could fix it.

i don't believe that we can travel faster nor anywhere NEAR the speed of light, which means to even get near to the closest star outside of ours, would take hundreds of years, if not more. it's 4.3 light years away, going to the speed of light it would take us 4.3 years.

anyway, gotta go

Why exactly can't we know any of that? Jesus knew it, Ghandi knew it, Bhudda knew it...all of them were men, just like us...so I say taht if we want to know it, we will. It's all in wether you want to open your mind to these things and the possibility taht what you think might be wrong. I'm not saying it is, because, as I see it, in this plane of existance, everything is relative...good and bad, left and right, up and down...and there are triads...here, there and in-between; before, now and after; father, the son and the holy ghost; subconscious, id, and ego...all that stuff, thers more, but the list could go on forever http://mmb.forumshq.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink2.gif

What I'm saying is taht in this plane, right and wrong are also relative. Everything is relative to the person and their perspective...just as left to one person isnt quite the same as left to the person standing facing them (obviously http://mmb.forumshq.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink2.gif ). If your floating around in space, which way is up? the earth is below you when your standing on the surface, but astronauts look up and see earth...so again, its all relative...just as right and wrong are relative...everyone sayes its wrong to kill, but if its in self defense, they say it is right...

I also believe that god created everything (not in the seven day ridiculous story the bible has). I don't believe he would create everything as it is, and expect us to fix what we call his mistakes...everything is to his plan, wether it seems imperfect or not.

As for faster than light speed...why cant we go faster? In space there is no friction (only debris to smash through us like bullets) and friction is what keeps us from going too fast within the atmosphere. If you can get enuf force going continually, you will continually speed up, theoretically http://mmb.forumshq.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink2.gif

If you can't go at the speed of light, then explain how light does it...all it is is a sparcer spread of molecules...just because they are more dense in a ship or a person doesnt mean they cant go as fast...they are just closer together..

e this marriage that so strongly is engrained within our societal structure. Many of these societies saw no logic in marriage and the family, as we define it today. Yes, they did love one more than another, and held them in reverence as if it were marriage, but they also did not limit themselves to one other for their entire lives. Relationships with others kept the society together, loving each other and doing as they pleased to enjoy the life they lived.

Have you seen the movie, K-PAX? Many interesting ideas were touched upon in t ha tmovie. Many ideas and philosophies were well written about in the books "Conversations with God" written by Neale Donald Walsch.

Both very good suggestions to check out, not only for the topic of marriage, but for life in general. http://mmb.forumshq.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile2.gif

jesus was 100% god. ghandi and bhudda i'm not so sure. how could, for example, jesus and bhudda know both know if their ideas were different. oh, it's because you say truth is relative. a person believes that something is "good" by all his knowledge and totally true to him. so he thinks it is good to rape little 3 year old girls. how DARE we stop him, it is good for him to be doign what he thinks is good and right. no, we stop him because we know that truth is not relative to person, we know that ethics cannot change between each person. right, left, up, down. sure, all that stuff stands. what is that but just what we perceive. that doesn't apply to ethical values. that's like saying, "all bananas are fruit so all people are fruit too." logical fallacy. i mean you could go on and on about examples how left to one person is right to the other and it wouldn't help your point at all. you said, "everyone sayes its wrong to kill, but if its in self defense, they say it is right..." that doesn't mean anything really. was that to say that what they think is relative to each person? i got nothin against ya MrBlack, but i just don't understand how that proves it.

and for the idea about space and keep propelling. Contemporary physics states that no object should be able to travel faster than the speed of light. it is a limit, the limit of the fastest object we know of. i gotta go, lunch time. i'll continue this later... read this MrBlack

but i just don't understand

Just open your mind and try to allow for some of these concepts to sink in...don't immediately dismiss them because they aren't what you were taught growing up Or because they arent what you want to believe or think about everything.

Jesus had the power to resurrect himself, and said that we too "have the power to do this and much more"

Ok, first off. wrong. He gave up his "Powers" when He came to earth. He was fully man yet fully God. How, that is tough to explain. But, what I do know is this. He (Jesus) did not have the power to resurrect himself. God did that.

So, the rest of the thoughts and statements about us having his power and greater powers than these.. well, that is true. We can heal the sick.. cast out demons.. walk on water (if we had the faith enough) and other such "tricks" Resurrection is a power of God himself.
