SO yesterday morning I came into work and one of my coworkers ran up to me and said "did you see your desk yet??". I said "no why" and they proceeded to tell me how there was a leak in the air conditioning system (which just so happened to be directly over my desk) and the thick cardboard'esk tiles that cover the ceilings of our office filled with water and collapsed on top of my desk.



So I walked back there and let me just say.. holy shit.



Most of the stuff was covered with plastic by the time i got there but there was a soaking wet tile sitting right square on top of my keyboard



Apparently (so says the air conditioning people) the copy machine sits directly under the thermostat and it was causing it to read the wrong temperature. The air conditioning unit was working too hard and ice started to form on it. Well it got so big that apparently it started to melt.



SO I am now at my new desk and amazingly the logitech keyboard and mouse set that I had STILL WORKS!!



Long story short, buy logitech.. there products rule.

Agreed. I always buy Logitech. At my desk at work I have the MX3000 cordless keyboard and mouse combo. Great for spreadsheets, and all around awesome.

At home, I have the step below what I have at work - can't remember off the top of my head the model number.

Every Logitech product I've bought has outlasted Microsoft crap by at least 3 times.

Microsoft shouldnt even be able to call their wireless keyboard/mouse 'wireless'... it only works like 2" away from the base unit.

No shit.. Every client I've ever made a home call to with Microsoft products can't stop bitching. Needless to say, I advise them to switch to Logitech. I can easily use my mouse and/or keyboard from across the room, 8-10' feet away from the receiver.

Hell yeah man. I have the same problem on a much smaller scale at my desk. My desk gets dripped on all the time, to the point I have to put wadded up paper towels above my ceiling tiles twice a week to soak up the drip. I have the MX3200 on my desk right now and both of them have experienced serious leakage, but still work great.
