creating rooms

I need to know what i'm doing wrong. I goto map 1 room 1076, slums crossroads, and made a hidden up. I clicked map editor and started creating rooms using the directional pad on the top left corner. I created about 40 new rooms clicked save, went to tools clicked compile.

Then i did an offline recovery and database recovery, but none of it stayed.
