They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery,.. But when some dumbass can’t be bothered to make his own items and resorts to stealing verbatim from another BBS’s dats.. Well that is just plan wrong.. Not even trying to rename things, or change values.. Just take and grab and say “oh look at what I made, neat huh”

I am talking about Sneaky BBS @ sneaky.dyndns.com and the fact that he took over 80 different items(at my last count, he does not or will not provide a dat file!)and at least 4 areas from both White Dragon BBS and Samcc BBS



Now IF this person had have asked! I would have said sure maybe we can make some items like the same as I have.. Just name em differently



I logged on and was given sysop (all player get sysops) 50 lvls and some $

Buit as far as his editing skills go.. Better ask some one that knows, instead of rippinng off another hard work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!



So.. If you enjoy this kind of thing happing to your hard work, log onto sneakys bbs L) where plagiarism is looked upon as something to be proud of !!

Now its sad enough that someone has to pretty much steal someone else BBS about 95 %, but its EVEN SADDER when that person BANS your ip because of the fact He/She Has an Account on the BBS that he stole the DATS and ideas from....not only is this childish but also totally lame..

THIS SO CALLED Sneaky BBS is Just that...SNEAKY and untrusting..

IF you want a BBS that has NOOOOOO creativity of its own then this is the BBS for you...

Or....any other edited BBS trying to add value to a game that died years ago. Nothing's new in mud anymore, someone has always done something before.



As far as stealing DD's dats...well...ya'll remember the board a few months back that had items/areas/etc similar to White Dragon? That one didn't last long, I doubt this one will either.

I read this forum daily, and this is the first I have ever heard of this shady bbs. If you are looking at someone else dats for ideas that is one thing but if your just copying and pasting and your not asking the editors permission or at the very least giving credit where credit is due, then you need to be shot. Realisticly though the edited mud community or what is left of it is the black market of the game forumly known as majormud and no one should be surprised by this activity.

pirated bbs or not, i poured 3 years ito that bbs and some young ass comes along and decides "hey i can call this my own".. with out asking or give credit where its due, thats why we have plagiarism laws in the US and Canada.. if your a fan of this sort of work, Deathcow, then go play on that BBBS,.. and tell Sneaky that DD sent ya L)))))

Legitimatly owned or pirated that doesn't matter. Your taking someones elses ideas and putting them into your own. See all the BBS's with samurais? Did I bitch about everybody else putting those in when I advented them with Lunar Dynamics? No, but atleast I was given credit, DD deserves atleast props for his work.
