Updating Btrieve to Pervasive 9.5 with SQL Support

I just wanted to let everyone know that I have sucessfully updated Quicksilver's Btrieve Database to Pervasive Btrieve 9.5 with SQL. I can now dynamically get all the data from the WG server via SQL/ODBC to add to a php website.



I am currently planning on editing one of the PHP forums such as this one so that it uses worldgroups userid's. So as of right now, I'm recreating all of the btrieve DDF files, which seems to be going fine.



Invisi, you might be interested in this because your players can dynamically get data from the mud so there is no need in physically POSTING the changes online.



Here are two that I have created so far.

This data is taken directly out of the majormud dat files.



Both of these were created by simply calling the odbc_exec function.



As far as the update is concerned its very stable. Im currently running 3 versions of MajorMUD on it. It takes up a LOT less system resources on startup for some reason. And I actually saw that I was getting 5ms response time, which before I never had less than 8ms.



The only problem so far though, is that nightmare doesn't seem to compile the update file. I have only tried updating the verbs for now, but it seems to read/write data just fine. I was wondering if Syntax might be willing to give nightmare a little update? Wutcha think Syn?? Otherwise I will have to make simple php forms that will update all the data (which is a big project I don't think I'm willing to take on).



If your interested in doing this on your BBS let me know and I can give you a hand. I personally think its well worth it, but thats just my opinion.
