Don't think this has been addressed elsewhere in the forum, but if it is, sorry!

Not exactly sure why you'd want more than two muds on the same board (maybe a third mud for testing stuff out or you're just overly creative...). But if you do, heres something I ran into when setting up my third mud.
Btrieve open error 87 on: (insert random file name here).
Btrieve error 87 is caused by resourse limitations/restrictions in the database engine. Three muds is a bit much, and theres a good chance of getting this error. Easy fix though...
1. Backup entire server (and windows registry if you're smart or paranoid)
2. Click on start menu, Run, regedit
3. Navigate to: My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Btrieve Technologies\Microkernel Workstation Engine\Version 6.15\Settings
4. Find in the list the following two entries that should look something like this: Max Files [0x00000064 (100)] -and- Max Handles [0x00000200 (512)]
5. Double click on them and raise the value. Mine were set at 64 originally and I raised them both to 80 and its worked for me so far!
This should raise the max setting so that more files can be opened at the same time. Hope this helps!

Edit: Just found Syntax53's pic of things to optimize:

3 muds on 1 bbs... Btrieve error 87 fix
Re: 3 muds on 1 bbs... Btrieve error 87 fix
I am pretty sure Syntax53 addressed this cause I knew about it.
I am betting people could find a reason to want to run 4 or more per server.
1. Normal PVP
2. Hacked exp PVP
3. Hacked Everything PVP
4. Non PVP mud.
I personally like having NON PVP mud that copies over to the other mud at cleanup which is full PVP.
