Various questions

Post by cjt0103 »

-How do you get more than 1 gold jeweled ring to appear at the support chamber?

-Where can i find a tutorial for modifying inventories/bank balances with a hex editor?

-I know that configuration for a bbs/mud can be lengthy, but does anyone have imput as to what settings might need to be reviewed that are normally defaulted to a less than effeicient state. Tweaks is what im saying folks.

-Limiting 1 connection per IP...please advise.

-Cleanup settings, I saw a 0-23 hour setting having to do with cleanup. Is this the only setting needed to initialize offline cleanup?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry, My first time doing this. I learn quickly. Be patient

Ctaylor

Also: I have a machine im considering turning into a dedicated server. Anyone want to offer up the best way to partition/arrange the system to work best for a dedicated WG/MM server.

download Nightmare Redux

1, edit shop 85...point and click..very easy.

2, dont bother..use NMR.

3, stock is fine

4, control module..

5, World group genral setup-->Core general setup-->MCUHR: hour of day for auto-cleanup

6, any clean system made within the past 5 years will run WG/MM just fine.

Limiting connections to 1 per ip.

I don't believe Dialsoft Control 5.62, the preferred version, works with anything but WG 3.3. So if you have WG 3.3 then use that. If not upgrade to WG 3.3

Either way you will find Dialsoft Control here.

http://www.dialsoft.com/download.htm

If you are using WG 3.2 or lower and you try Dialsoft Control 4, back your system up. I have never got that to work right. I wouldn't even recommend messing with it.

Edit: Please post version information when asking questions here. We made some assumptions when answering your question's which we think are right, but version of os, version of wg and version of mud save time sometimes.
