That's a site that zan linked to before detailing the novice quests, though they have the numbers off on the first one. Both quests are done in Prontera, and aren't that hard to do. They also list what each level of the basic skill will let you do. Since you have to raise it to 9 in order to switch classes, it's not bad info to know.

First Aid - Spend 3sp to gain 5hp. Need 5xclover 5xred herb and a bandage from Prontera Castle.

Play Dead - Spend 5sp, drop to the ground "dead", causing mobs to lose aggro. Timed quest, 10 minutes to run to the castle and back. Once you switch jobs, you lose this skill.

I highly suggest doing both these quests. As a thief, I still use first aid at 25/15, and if it wasn't for play dead I don't think I could have switched jobs at base lv12.
