Ah what the hell, I'll post something as long as my thread is on the new threads thing...

I've been playin at keys alot more lately than I have during the past few resets and noticed that while I have a ton of edits, most of them are useless. There are too many edited areas not being used, too many edited items not being used, too many levels going by without new items. I don't have the time myself to check everything, but my trusty sidekick REX has been rerolling over and over testing different classes seeing what needs to be done with armour and weapons, and we're slowly balancing things out better so nobody has to go 20-30 levels without getting something new. The work I'm doing, is changing the monsters a bit so they're more accurate, since M had to screw everything up with AC, and raising exp in areas accordingly so people can hopefully spread out. We've finished plate and chain, now REX is playing a Mystic, so we can add more silk armor, and hopefully Mystics and Ninjas, etc won't be so shitty. It'll probably take awhile, but we're doing what we should have done, and what I claimed we were doing, a long time ago. I thought we were doing it a long time ago, and it took this current reset of me actually playing more than I have recently, to realize how unbalanced everything has been. But since I have so many edits, it will take awhile. I've started adding the date to my updates page, so if anyone decides to check it out and see what all I've done recently, you'll be able to see that I'm trying to get alot of things done, and I'm editing as often as possible. I always thought I had a great board, but lately I'm not so sure. But one thing I am sure of, is by the time REX and I finish this project... it WILL be a great board.

and a bit of an update: I haven't gotten around to giving everyone ops to look to see which bosses are alive, but a few scattered players that I trust, not only ones in my gang, have remotes on my op character that only sits in halls and heals people, so they can do the @home command on him. Anyone who doesn't have that power can simply ask anyone who does have it, and they'll let them know.

Since Lunar was down for the last few hours (or at least I didn't know the alternate IP) I decided to log into Sinister as I hadn't been on in a very very long time.

The changes that have been done are very cool, I'm cruisin along I figure I sit over night and I should be ready to train to level 20+, currently sittin in the cave worm pullin 25k.

Awesome. There's still a ton of work left to do but we're slowly getting where it should be. We have to work on weapons still, and figure some stuff out with monsters, but other than that everything's lookin alot better than it used to be.

btw- cave bear is instant regen at 4x exp, when he decides to work... dunno if you might pull more scriptin him.

I was in and out of the cave bear most of the morning, and he wasn't regening. I thought he was like on Lunar, non-exsistant. But I'm level 11, with shitty armour, cheezy weapon (fueroknife). Currently just scripting the worm while I'm at work.

When I get home @ 9am pst, I'll train and roam the junk room for some armour and weapons :)

AH shit... after 4 hours of straight editing, which would have been more if REX wouldn't have finally gotten NMR to help me out a bit with editing...

v10.01i - 03/01/04 - 1. Added 42 new pieces of armour.

2. Fixed debrutalize.

3. Fixed necromantic storm message.

4. Upgraded necromantic storm and ultima.

5. Fixed Dragula and Ghaleon attacks. (?)

6. Changed bracelet of haste to level 30.

42 new pieces of armor ranging from levels 60-120. Armour is done. Now we work on fixing all our weapons.

We're hoping when everything is done there will be a smoother transition between stock and edited...

Well basically what we have planed for weapons is a drastic step down in speed and damage especially in the higher level weapons, were gonna try to make it a much smoother transition from your regular legit mud range levels so between 50 and 70 is going to be a nice mix of whats good to have legit or hexed so its not such a plan line between the legit portion and the hex. Were also getting rid of alot of the pointless items stuff no one uses and ends up cluttering the realm till the end of time, were shifting alot of item drops on bosses and mob's so they make sence. For instence we have a level 35 weapon droping from aed which planly has no point if you just killed aed your definatly beyond 35. So after we sort threw all the weapons change there damages and speeds to fit more snuggly get rid of the pointless items restock shops fix any bugs we know of and get everything ready. were planing on the grand 10th reset of sinisture urge, mind you not any time soon as what we have is alot of work.

Yeah, not soon. This isn't the average 2 month set... heh, I think this set has gone on longer than the average of all the others. I think the main problem was I was out of mud for about 3-4 years, then got back into it and was blown away by Invisigod and his edits... never seen anything like it before... and I didn't know how the game had changed, etc... when I started this board. Time has gone by, and I know so much more now than I used to... this is so gonna kick ass.

The board is still open to new people so if anyone wants to play, go for it. You notice any problems, let me or REX know and we'll take care of it.

Still running N, not gonna bother with O until it resets. I'm aware of what O is gonna screw up, so there will probably be a private set for me and rex to run around and tweak text blocks or whatever, but it won't last long. We're taking our time with this... there's more stuff than what rex mentioned that I want to do. I wanted to stop after this set but after realizing how much everything sucked, I don't wanna go out like that.

My cousin's supposed to be working on a whole new site for it as well. A pretty site, like it was made by someone who knows how to make sites, not this generic frontpage crap. :wstupid:
