just combat vs combat warrior, witchy, paladin would definitely whoop a warlock. the only reason i had a chance is because of the spells



and i don't use the global macros, i use the megamud macros

if you don't use all the available tools, dont be mad when ppl whoop your ass, all i gotta say.. more power to the macros

Spellcasting classes have a lot more to worry about than non-spellcasting classes. All a sneaker needs to know is 'hide', 'sneak', and 'bs'. A tank needs to know even less, 'a', 'aa', and, uhm, 'a'. A spellcaster, on the other hand, has to remember the 4 letter abbreviations for up to 20 spells... A spellcaster has to actually THINK about what he's casting, and that cuts out of the time you have to type it.. Having macros lets you stay competitive when you have to stop to think whether it'll be better to slow, or to confuse, or to speed, or to sleep...



Besides, as Delete said... if you have the tools, not using them is dumb.

Ray, when you are playing Warcraft, and you run an invasion, do you get adrenaline? If you're playing another game, and you attack someone, do you get adrenaline? Fuck, in mud, when you go kill an orc rogue, do you get adrenaline? If you answered yes to any of these, you need to step outside and have a gander at the real world. You are way way way way too involved in computer games dude. Go see a shrink or something. PvP should not be giving you an adrenaline rush, you are simply typing commands in the same as you would if you were killing a monster.



Macros are only for those who type slow. Learn to type quicker and you'll forget all about macros, since it's easier to type conf whoever than it is to set up macros and then remember what the hell you just set it at.

I don't get an adrenaline rush anymore, but I used to in PvP when I was 14 and 15 years old.



Furthermore, hell yeah I get an adrenaline rush sometimes when I play a new game. War 3, Americas Army .. When I first started playing those games and owned someone it was pretty fun.



Okay, maybe adrenaline rush is too strong, but you can't tell me you've never felt anything. What's the point in playing a game if you don't get anything out of it?



Don't you get an adrenaline rush when you play poker or something with your buddies and win all their money? Same thing.

in mud i do, when i'm playin against another player where it requires at least a little tactic, i do get an adrenaline rush. i don't take it too seriously, that's just how i am. course not against an orc rogue or even the computer in warcraft, but playing counterstrike i do all the time, or playin against other people in warcraft, or pvping in majormud. that's how i am

And if you use megamud at all then you're basically being hypocritical regarding to macros.



If you can't type fast enough to get your rounds in, use them. If you can, dont' use them.



If some guy comes up on the street and tries to stab you in the back with a wavy-bladed dagger you don't revert to some sort of traditional code of fighting honor, you kick his ass in whatever way possible..

Fuck. God damnit. I had a big long response and then hit a button that made my browser go back. In a nutshell:



I can't see how someone would get an adrenaline rush so bad that they can't type properly. To each is own, though. I guess some people get more out of games than others. When I pvp, it's nothing different than killing a monster. It's all text, regardless of how I look at it.



Megamud: I agree yes and no. I use megamud so that I don't have to be in that window, or at keys. If I wanna walk from silvermere to khazarad, I'm gonna set mega to do it, and then switch windows and/or go get a drink, or go drop a load in the toilet. If I'm at keys doing something, my megamud is set to all-off. Megamud is only there (personally) so that I can swap between windows and do other things. If I were pvp'ing, I would definately be at keys the whole time, not using macros. Again, to each is own. I type quicker than most, so my opinion about macros is biased.
