The linksys router is a snap, you plug it in, go to http://197.168.1.1, set it up, and you are done. It splits everything and all the software is included.

Included on a CD-ROM? I don't have a CD-ROM drive, that's why I ask ;) I've read about this UMAX thing which I don't believe needs any software? Thanks for the help, by the way :)

all the linksys stuff is dhcp and its in the router, no software is needed what so ever... you plug it in... go to that ip address and set up yer connection and yer done... its that simple!



man I got a cable/dsl router AND a wireless router.... the wireless router has been beefed up with a little help of some hacking proggies :D I can now go about 1500 feet from the base station and still have good reception :)

i've got a 4-port dlink, it was about $40 cheaper than a 4-post linksys, and i haven't had a problem with it, but i do think that linksys is a better product to get
