What are you using? a work pc a home pc? if it's a home pc just set up the firewall to unblock port 23.. or find out what ports are not blocked and assign worldgroup to use that port.

its a home pc, how do i change worldgroup to use different ports? and would people have to change their telnet port to something else?

if i change the advanced settings for the cable connection to allow telnet is that telnetting from a computer on the network or is it the connection allowing telnetting to this computer?

Ok, I know i found instructions for this somewhere as ive done it before, but cant for the life of me recall how. Ive got wg set up and running on my computer which is attached to a netgear dsl firewall/router. The router allows for both port forwarding and dmz. So, heres my question. How do i set the router up to allow ppl to connect to my bbs and how do i set up wg itself to allow for this network setup?

Easy explanation: Set port 23 to forward to your machine.



Long explanation: I really don't feel like writing a long explanation. Get the IP to your local machine (192.168.0.???) and forward port 23 to that.

ok, ive set that up, i assume that they need to connet to the outbound port. do i need to set up wg to be running on my internal ip address or type in the external ip?

External, and make sure it's definately the right one. Routers get some odd IP addresses some times.

im not saying speed doesn't know what he's talking about, but im pretty sure you want to have your internal IP (the IP address of the machine WG is installed on) set in WG's setup. really, the best thing to do is just enter "AUTO" for the IP.
