Dude.. Plague.. Your rambling post made no sense whatsoever.

Since when are ninjas or rangers casters?? Yes, rangers can cast, but they're hardly "casters" in the same sense as druids or mages are.

Bards have been around since the beginning of d&d and have always been considered a great class for roleplaying and as a great support class.

Also, your reasoning for not including missionaries or gypsies makes no sense whatsoever.

Why not this:

Remove all races except human! heh

Add more classes, make more mixed classes (fighter/thief kinda things) and make it all a strictly human vs the world kinda realm ;)

Just a thought...

however, all the current races rock as is..might wanna tweak one here and there (delf), they are tried and tested races from the good ole days of mud...perhaps new races would be nice, just for variety..

LOL, ok let me make it simple for you maybe your not as smart as I thought...

that was a typo the ninja-sneaker/caster shit---1 problem adressed

Rangers ARE casters since they depend heavily on thier survival skillz, i.e. rapid healing, mend, antidote, entangle, freeedom, barkskin, ever notice all those spells are designed to make a rangers chance of survival greater in any terrain-----2 problems solved.

Missies/gyspies suck, in all regards the way they are now. A high level missie or gypsy will have undoubtly a hard time solo scripting and making decent exp, they can be decent in parties though but solo the whole idea of a sneaking/caster almost is an oxymoron. Think about it really......Why would someone who can cast a spell and cause an "earthquake" or shoot colorful "beams" out of thier hands worry about hiding from monsters? Also not to mention thier horrible combat, also they seemed to not be needed in your 7 class limit---3 problems taken care off

Bards.....Think about it really man. Long and hard...How the hell is somebody going to get powers from a bard, like I said in the context of "fantasy" the concept of bards are exceptional with potentially limitless possibilities. In reality bards didn't really go anything except sing to amuse some sort of royalty. The same role in society as a court jester, only simply a different style of entertainment------Maybe you will have this fourth problem fixed it's more of my opinion rather then fact, I don't like bards.

Fifth, My post was kind of a rant but the general jist got across and the points were validated, it's all opinion anyways..

In close I hope you die. (am i j/k??????????)

Personally, I'm not a big fan of classes or races. I've always been a fan of skill-based systems, where you're free to shape your character into whatever you want him to be, without any limitations (assuming you're willing to pay the price).

And I've always considered this as a very viable option. Having everyone be human, and create more classes to cover just about anything people would want to be (with the appropriate exp penalties of course)

MrBlacks idea is cool, that would be kidna fun I think. I personally play USUALLY a d-elf mage cause I like the sneaky. dwarven priests rock as long as you dont send them somewhere where they can get overwhelmed.

I never played a bard much because I never really liked them. Id rather play a ranger over a bard but I know ppl that love bards when they dedicate themselves to one and play it rigth they rock at high levels.

Never liked Kang much because anyone can buy a cure poison potion so it defeats a kangs purpose. I think they need some other ability. Half ogres are okay but dwarves outrank them in the long run. never found a halfling useful except for LONG ago when playing thieves was worthwhile. I havent played any other races much so I cant say mch about them

I don't think you should start bringing intelligence into this.

Ever hear of proof-reading?

Just because they cast spells, they're not neccesarily considered casters. Usually a class is identified by it's primary ability, which in the rangers' case happens to be fighting.

One could also sneak, backstab, then shoot colorful beams. You could theoretically kill faster. Key word here is theoretically. In MajorMud those two classes are mostly worthless, which is why nobody includes them on this list in the first place.

Since when are we playing a "reality-based" game? Ever hear of people casting spells? Do you believe in voodoo magic? Ever see vines attack people?? If anything, songs are more realistic than spells, because music usually inspires.

LOL rust you crack me up, Mages and Druids are worthless huh? I know a handful of people who would disagree but honestly, I don't see how a leather wearer, decent combat and can hurl a boulder at your ass for 1200+ is "useless".

No, it's hard to proof read when you are doing like 20 different things. So no, I didn't waste my time proof-reading. Had this been an essay or a book maybe but it's a lameass post on a forum, I don't care enough to proof-read. The proverbial "once over" ya i can do.

Second I was classifieng all classes into three main ones, which isn't that far fetched, and yes I would honestly consider Rangers sneakers/fighters/casters. I do think you are WRONG, but I'm open minded enough to remember that this is an opinion to a good question that YOU asked. It sucks that you had to start flaming me just because I don't like you.

Why don't you learn to read. I was talking about missionaries and gypsies in reply to your comment about them. Not mages and druids. Mages and druids both rule.. there's no disputing that.

And maybe if you didn't talk shit in the beginning of your post, I wouldn't have been as harsh in my reply. Besides, I could care less if you like or dislike me. I appreciate your answer to my question, but next time, try to write like you're older than 13 years old.
