I am not trying to be a dick. I just don't understand why people try to charge for something that is old in a technology world. Like why they still charge ridiculus prices for MajorMud and Worldgroup baffles the shit out of me, just look at what happen to Galaticomm and its vendors. Nobody would pay. I am happy to see people putting boards up, but how long will people stay if they charge for extra accounts. Most poeple play with a 3 character combination of some sort. Even though most of us hate the additions Metro is making, alot of the new areas require kick ass parties or you get killed by the first monster you run across in a non-editted board. Firesong don't get me wrong, It looked good, the log on was long, but charging for anything on BBS is not worth while in the long run for trying to get people to come to a BBS. IMHO! I support all boards, since that means less money metro gets, and should force them to look at thier pricing if they don't have thier head up there butt like we all suspect they do.

I recently had a talk with the operator Firesong and you get 2 mud accts. and a CHAT account which has no access to majormud. I can see his point of view, charge for a 3rd mud acct and nobody will want it. Its simply a deterent.

I have nothing against Firesong. I am just saying we are all fighting one thing and charging for what ever account number turns people away. We need all the people in this fight, so a certian company has to really look at thier pricing mechanism. I realize that bandwidth cost money, and running these things take time which is money but I believe if you are going to open a BBS (circa early 90s) charging for certian accounts don't except people to stay when other people offer it for free.

Your forgetting one thing. I DON'T expect people to stay. If they don't like my board, as you said, there's plenty of them out there. They can move on and make an account somewhere else just as easy as they made one here. You'd be surprised, but I do have a few paying users on my board.
