Post by MrBlack »

Was havin a discussion earlier with Tristian (until he wandered off for dinner)...Just thought I'd post the discussion and get some more people in on the discussion :)

Ford S J 74: you ever listen to country at all?

Adamm256: rarely...i usually prefer not to

Ford S J 74: well.. were you affect by 9-11?

Ford S J 74: affected.

Adamm256: on the day yeah, but after wards, it didnt bother me

Ford S J 74: they are related questions..

Adamm256: heh

Ford S J 74: well.. ok.. just give this song a listen too.. once. :-) Alan Jackson.. Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning)

Adamm256: oh, heard that one heh

Adamm256: not too bad

Ford S J 74: i just downloaded it..

Adamm256: hehe

Ford S J 74: 'cause I"m a bit of a Alan Jackson fan..

Ford S J 74: had no clue what I was getting..

Adamm256: i just like music tha sounds good...despite artist ;-)

Ford S J 74: until i previewed what I had got.. and I didn't know what to do.

Ford S J 74: cry / cheer / think...

Adamm256: hehe

Ford S J 74: that day crushed me for a while ..

Ford S J 74: :-(

Ford S J 74: i never knew I had that much patriotism in me.. or that much care for humans in general

Adamm256: i slept thru that day when myschool closed down and kicked us all out...called my family to makre sure they were ok (bein military) and was over it in a day

Ford S J 74: i was screwed up.. 'cause I have some good friends in the military..

Ford S J 74: and I couldn't contact any of them..

Ford S J 74: some were stationed in middle eastern areas..

Adamm256: i'v come to not worry about ppl...if they live or die...death is a natural part of life...im prepared for my own death...and so i dont feel bad about otehrs dying

Ford S J 74: that is true.. it's not the death I was afraid of.. it was those that were alive.. but not able to get or recieve help.

Ford S J 74: and then for those that were gonna put there bodies on the line so that I (we) could keep living as we have always known.

Ford S J 74: death doesn't bother me so much .. as the loss of life that bothers me.. when you don't die from something that probably shoulda killed you. and you are stuck suffering. due to no fault of your own.

Adamm256: its always your choice to suffer from something...remember ltnt dan on forrest gump? he suffered until he finally decided not to

Ford S J 74: yes i do.. but i mean.. if you head is half crushed in.. and your still alive..in pain.. not able to do anything for yourself.. or that person under a pile of debris, that is still alive... but can't be heard, or hear anyone else..

Adamm256: its still your choice to suffere from it...you have the ability to dull out the pain, its your choice to do that or not

Ford S J 74: some ppl dont have that ability..

Adamm256: all ppl do, they just dont realize it

Ford S J 74: you don't seem to understand that.. sometimes something happens that is so drastic...they lose the ability to do it..

Ford S J 74: if that is taken away... (for example.. what is that part of the brain was killed.. but somehow that person lived through it?)

Adamm256: they dont lose the ability, they forget the ability...the soul prefers to experience the suffering, and when it decides not to it wont

Ford S J 74: and then.. emotionally.. that can be taken away..

Ford S J 74: i don't agree at all.

Ford S J 74: but then again.. i don't have too

Ford S J 74: and you don't have to agree with me

Ford S J 74: :-)

Adamm256: thats your choice ;-)

Ford S J 74: grin

Ford S J 74: i understand what your saying..

Adamm256: after all, all beings have freewill ;-)

Ford S J 74: but that is just one view of the pyschology of it. heh

Ford S J 74: all beings? no just us.. hehe

Ford S J 74: :-) humans that is.

Adamm256: heh, if you wanna call is psychology..i call it spirituality

Adamm256: all beings

Ford S J 74: not according to my faith and belief

Adamm256: do you have a pet?

Ford S J 74: yep..

Adamm256: what kind?

Ford S J 74: he doesn't have free will

Ford S J 74: dog

Adamm256: go look into your dogs eyes, and tell me you dont see a soul

Ford S J 74: black lab

Ford S J 74: i don't

Ford S J 74: never have..

Adamm256: then you havent really looked

Ford S J 74: i see faith in me.. love and devotion.

Ford S J 74: dinner time.. :-) late for dinner i know

Adamm256: lol

Adamm256: what is it to be god?

Adamm256: i say its love, complete and undoubting

Adamm256: ok..ty this one...if you say humans are the only ones with souls...do you believe in other beings bvisiting us? and if so, do they have souls? if not, why not? without a soul, according to your beliefs...they would be animals...and if they were animals, then how would they have the intelligence to visit this planet?

Adamm256: this is worthy of a philosophy forum discussion...i'm gonna repost this ;-)

a brain for intelligence has nothing to do with a soul...

According to modern religions, it does...Modern 'Western' religions teach taht animals do not have souls, because they are not as intelligent as humans. Anyone who has animals, and truly loves them will tell you otherwise. If you look into your pets eyes, you can see the soul. If you don't believe your pet or any other animal has a soul, then why would they be so devoted to their masters? Without a soul they would be vile evil creatures (vampires don't have souls, according to mythology). Traditionally, according to mythology, anything without a soul is typically defined as the mosnters...frankensteins monster, vampires, mummies, etc

Alot of ppl seem to think that only we (humans) have souls...but why would god create all these creatures without souls? surely they arent here for just our amusemend and affection? Perhaps they are a soul, lower on the spiritual evolution than we? Eastern religions teach reincarnation. Each soul reincarnates infintely, and with each incarnation, we evolve spiritually, more and more, until we have become one with 'the all' where we may start over once again, in the perpetual cycle of all life.

This, to me, makes so much more sense than western religions take on the single soul, single lifetime to become at one with god...somehow i don't think that the 80 or so years that we have come to live is long enough for that...even tho it is longer than we lived 150 years ago (life span of 18-19th century europe was 35 years). Although, in biblical times, humans lived for thousands of years...Adam lived for almost 3000, his children lived for over 2000, and their children lived that long...eventually, humans began to excercise their freewill and started an intake of toxins which bgan to cripple their bodies longetivity. Science has proven that the human body can live for well over 220 years...its just the substances that we put into the body that causes it to break down so early.

Look at Atlantis, its said that the people of Atlantis lived for thousands of years...theirs was a peaceful utopia! It's too bad they aren't still around, we would stand to learn alot from them.

So where can i get a toxin-free big mac?

probably all of our food has some percentage of "toxins" - maybe toxins could symbolize for something else?

Of course insomnia (me) will hurt the bodies longevity too...
