Warhammer

Post by ari »

So, tomorrow's my last day on the Wow gamecard, and though I have another sitting here, I'm bored again and think I'll save it for wotlk. That being said, the timing is about good for warhammer, so I'm going to give it a try. Haven't pre-ordered yet, probably will next week so I can get in for the beta on the 7th, try to get a feel for the game, and then get an early start at launch.

Anyways, all that being said, I wanted to ask if anyone else was in for launch, so we could coordinate servers and have a chance to play together. I've barely read anything about the game, but have a friend who's being following it and he has a handful of people he's going to start up with, so I'll be joining whatever server they go for, and could pass the info along to you people.

It's going to be strange being able to turn settings up on a new game for once. Got a 9800gtx+ (and a new psu to run the fucker) last week, and my Asus 22" widescreen monitor is sitting 30 miles away until UPS brings it on Monday. Woot for quarterly bonuses.

P.S. - Ray loves the cock.

P.P.S. ..up his ass.

Bought my pre-order box today, will be in the beta on the 7th. Find it hard to believe that no one else will be playing.

Just going to quote myself from a post on mmorpg, since it's basically the same response I was going to type up:

I quit wow back in the day because the job I was working wouldn't allow me to group with friends (night shift) or do raid content. I re-sub'd four months ago, and while it was fun getting my rogue to 70, I once again ran into the same problem. Now I work an early shift so go to bed while friends, and most of the server, are raiding.

I made a paly and zoomed him up to 70, but then nothing else changed, still couldn't do "end-game" content, and all I was left with is PvP for epic's, or grinding daily's/mats/rep/blah. It just didn't appeal to me.

So I let my account expire yesterday, still have another 2 month card here but am just going to save it for Wotlk. Way I see it, if I have to grind pvp endlessly, why not do it in a game "designed" for it, that will also give me that joy of exploration that I don't get from WoW anymore. Learning the systems/world/lore/etc. is half the fun of a game, so I may as well give war a try, and I'll either like it, or give wotlk a try when it comes out.

In the end, the amount of time invested in a game should not govern whether you continue playing or not. Myself, I know going in that this is only going to be entertainment for a few months, if it's any good I'll keep playing as long as it's still fun. I prefer it to going to the bar and dropping a bill on one nights entertainment.

I'll probably be there on launch day. Just to see what all the hype is about. But as usually if it sucks (which it usually does) I am just going to quit. You gonna post the server and your name on here the second you create it? If so I'll see you there.

Well, my friend never got me in touch with his ppl from chicago that are supposed to be playing, so I just chose a server that didn't have a que, but both populations are high. I *may* need to change it later though, stuck on nights for this week, but hoping the server will be populated when I'm normally on, sinec that would be the only issue.

Anyways, jumped on Badlands server, my main to start is going to be Niholistic, a greenskin shaman. Maybe I'll see you on, but on most weekdays I'm heading to bed around 9-10edt, so we could have problems actually being on at the same time since you on the other coast.

Going to be moving into a larger place, busy packing and whatnot, but i'll probably shell out the dough for this.

Won't have much time to play regardless, but maybe i'll see you tools in-game when i get installed.

We'll I tried to download the Warhammer (Pre-Order) which opened today, but unfortunatly I had no choice but to go with Direct2Drive.com (IGN) which is a fucking joke. I paid $49.99, try to download it and all I get is:

"Server Error:

There's been an error with your request. We apologize for this inconvenience. Please empty your browser temp file, close all browsers and try again. If the error repeats please visit our Support Center to report this error."

I have tried customer service for the past 4 hours and have gotten no response. Kinda gay because the servers go live on the 18th. SO I will more than likely just cancel the order and go buy it at a reliable place like gamestop. Gawd I hate IGN.

I know that, at least locally, the Sunday fliers all have the game in store by 2pm (dunno if time zone matters) today (Wednesday). So you could probably buy it at lunch if you wanted to. Servers don't open until tomorrow, but you can still get the hard copy and i think patch as well.

Going to go login now myself. Waaaagh!
