Soyuz docking with the ISS

If any of you are interested, the docking of the russian soyuz spacecraft with the international space station will be going on VERY early tomorrow morning (tonight). I dont know if any of you guys are interested in this stuff, but I must say I just might be attempting an all nighter. The soyuz carries the 4th paid space tourist who is also the first female space tourist, that will be staying aboard the ISS for 9 days before returning to earth. Wish I had 20 million dollars to travel to space.

Tomorrow Morning PST

12:30 a.m. - Expedition 14/Ansari Docking to the ISS Coverage (docking scheduled at 1:24 a.m.) – Korolev, Russia (All Channels)

4:10 a.m. - Expedition 14/Ansari/Expedition 13 Hatch Opening and Welcoming Ceremony (Hatch opening scheduled at 4:20 a.m.) – Korolev, Russia (All Channels)

Just after sunset around 8:30 the ISS came ~70 deg over head. Started off questioning what i was looking at. Followed it to the western sky where it fadded out into the earths shadow.



At that time it was -1.9 magnitude - our brightest star Sirius is only -1.4. Also after sunset it was the only thing in the sky, an easy spot.
