WG version: 3.3 (registered)
OS: WinXP Pro
My WG has had this problem ever since I installed it and I was wondering if the same happened for you guys or if its just my pc being wierd. Its two problems really: Every time I exit a WG process, it doesn't close down the WGSINT.exe process, so when I try to open a WG process, it can't until I task-manage-kill it. The second odd thing: I cant ever open the server unless I do something to "alter" it first. ie: I have to run the Wgsswzd.exe program and click through it before opening the server for the server to load. Occasionally I'll check the board after cleanup and the server hasn't come back up; I check the task manager and sure enough: WGSINT.exe
Is there a way to fix this?

Re: WG strangeness
I have had different things happen using three different computers running XP Pro/Home all SP2.
1. First XP HOME system it installs and runs fine.
2. Second XP HOME system I had to run C:\WG\wgsappgo.EXE with compatibility mode for 98 / ME. (Right click the icon and choose the last tab Compatibility)
3. Third XP PRO system it wouldn't install. I had to manually add the registry entries and copy in the directory. But it runs fine.
Try playing with compatibility mode. What you are getting is similiar to the problems I was having with the second system.
Edit: P.S. I am using WG 3.3 NT also.

Edit: Hey, thanks for the tip! It worked beautifully!

Re: WG strangeness
Just for giggles.. why on earth are you using XP home?
Re: WG strangeness
I am using XP Home because I like to stay within the law and I have 3 computers.
2 of them I bought and they came with XP Home.
1 of them I built for the BBS and I purchased XP Pro.
I really don't see a difference where to BBS is concerned in comparison to HOME/PRO. I did purchase PRO for it's networking abilities in order to effectively do a remote backup of my files.
If I were to choose an OS I would pick 2003 Server. But I am not paying that much for an OS for the BBS. Enough money is in that thing already.
