honda cr 125 sticky carb/throtle help!! [Archive] - ForumsHQ

hi all, im new to this forum so, my name is tom , i motocross adict.



well my problem is that when riding around the track my bike seems fine, until you land from a jump or going over rough braking bumps,then all of a sudden the bike will go stright to full revs with out moving the twis grip. it only seems to do it these areas and flat smooth corners its fine.



i have replaced the cable and housing, checked there is only 2mm of play in housing between the carb and throtle housing.i have pulled the carb apart and theres nothing wrong with it, it behaves in the pits and revs and shuts off normaly, but it will stick when you really bounce it about, and we still cant find the problem.



if anyone knows what it could be or wht to do please help as i have a race in less than 13 days and i cant ride with my bike like this. if you need anymore info about this problem please ask and i will try my best to get it and hopefully rsulve this issue.

Welcome tom. That's an interresting problem you're having. What kinda bike are you riding when this is happening?

I'm doin a little looking around to see what you're bike troubles might be. Porkinbone might have some input on this subject as well...Hey porkinbone, where the hell are ya??

hmm.. an odd question... I'm not too hip on the small engine motorcycle but they aren't too different from anything else so I'll give it a shot... check your chokes. if your choke is closing it could cause your bike to suddenly run rich.. it has to be in your fuel delivery system, so when you say "my carbs are fine" did you rebuild them or what? I would clean the crap out of them to make sure nothing is sticky... also lube the shit out of your throttle linkage where your cable attaches to your carbs... other than that I'll have to think on it...

i got a 2002 honda 125cr i just bought a ABOUT a mouth ago then i fucked the engine so i just finish rebuilding it. it runs greaat now but now my bike is stuck in first gear :huh: i cant shift down or up im so lost what to do ???????????

Is your clutch dissengaging????

I don't wanna say your motor is seasing, i'm leaning more towards your clutch.

Try putting some slack in the chain and see if you can get the crankshaft to rotate.

There might be a threaded stud in the clutch hub that needs adjusting.

Do you have fluid in your gearbox?????



there's a few things it might be....i hope some of my questions help you out...let us know whatcha find.
