Tradewinds Final Release [Archive] - ForumsHQ

Post by iNViSiGOD »

As stated in the WoW Update forum, we have some exciting new enhancements to look forward to, a completly different server software utilizing SQL database access for quick crossreferencing mand many new features, below I will list some of the fixes in this release:

Logging: You should no longer have issues logging into the server or having to restart your WoW client, for the most part it seems seemeless and character listing load time is almost tripled.

Auto equip: You can now right click on an item to auto equip it.

Agro's: No more "You are too far away" issues with having to be within a certain distance of a MOB to attack it. Attacks and Agro reponse are much better.

Agro's won't chase you forever like they used to.

Guards will now attack Agro's if you bring them within distance.

LIST: Friends list now when you refresh it will display how many players online.

Weather: Weather is now randomly generated, due to you needing only to install world of warcraft and be up to 1.12.1 (only that version) for weather to take effect.

Working: Mail system, Auction System, Buy Back System, and selling system now work, no more dragging the item to the seller box to sell something.

Heroic Strike now deals the damage it should according to the level of the spell.

Guards now talk to you and you can ask them where things are at in a major city and they will give you a waypoint where to find the place your looking for.

When you need to complete a quest if your minimap is in range it will show you where that NPC you need to talk to is.

Items that say for example "Chance on hit causes 30-50 fire damage" works. So if you have a weapon that should have a chance on dealing extra damage based off it's attributes it should for the most part work now.

Monsters no longer dissapear after you loot them, so if you accidentally walk away you can always re loot them.

Auto-Shoot for hunters now works properly. **UPDATE** Auto Shoot seems to come with anyone who learns the gun or bow skill, sometimes however it gets stuck and keep shooting even if the monster is dead. Just shoot something else and it will stop.

Quests: Agro drops for items are improved, meaning more quests work for aggro's that should drop items.

Consumables: Now when you drink or eat you will automatically sit down to do so, no more having to manually sit do so.

Improvement: Pet system, the pets should now be more responsive and follow you appropriatly. You will still need to command them to attack but when you move about they should follow you accordingly.

No more laggy World Save, everything is saved in realtime so your characters are always safe even if you suddenly get disconnected.

Sundries: Falling a long distance now causes appropriate damage.

Spirit Healer is now invisible unless slain.

No more worrying about keybindings not working on login, this way you don't have to keep resetting your keybindings when you log into the game.

Legitimate AddOn's work for this server, no need for customized addon's.

No more "Well Rested" all the time, you need to be at an inn or major city to rest.

Known Issues:

I still need to fix many things including the Zepplin issue where when you change zones the zepplin clips from underneath you, however it takes you to where you need to much more reliably and faster.

Certain NPC's (i.e. Some Horde side Zepplin masters will aggro you if you come within range of them. Such as in Grom' Gol Base Camp.

Some quests in still don't work.

Haven't been playing on TW, or wow in general for that matter in the last couple months, but I'm both impressed and happy by the changes about to take place. Grats on a nice find, invis.

Thanks bro, it will probably be a month or two before I open this one up to the public, I'm trying to gather what does and doesn't work and post it here before letting people in the door, aside from a few issues this release looks to be really nice and functional.

Thats another thing I'll be working on is getting the mounts lowered so people can have cheap transportation.

Oh and as a side note, Weather is working, this is a pic of rain in Death Knell:

Indeed both of you would be beneficial to have on the project team, as soon as I can find a way to allow incomming connections to the new server from the internet I'll set it up so we can start working on it. I need moth of you to encourage other non cheating users to visit here for imput.

Oh, and Phantom, cheap-o horsies are back in. ;)
