I normally try out new boards until it becomes apparent that a) The balance is off b) New scripting areas provide way to much exp to the few ppl that get there first or c) The sysop becomes a Tool.

I just can't believe that in this day and age of identity theft, someone is requiring information of a personal level. Anyone can pop someone's digits into Google and find out where they live. Personally, I don't like random sysop "X" who's running an illegal board to know that kind of stuff about me. Not to mention I don't own a house phone, so I guess it's moot anyways. Couldn't play even if I didn't mind giving out a phone #.

To validate 2 accounts per ip, all the proof I require is a human voice on the other end to tell me it's one person with 2 accounts, not one person with 5 or 50 accounts, make sense? Aint like I'm some telephone salesman ya know.









Ok...so I sign up with two accounts you verify me via phone at my place.





Now I use a re-router, sign up again with two accounts and give you my sisters info in another state...have her verify the info when you call.





Voila, I now have four accounts two different isp's..





And sorry, but in this day and age you could say you are christ and NO way would, atleast as a female that play anyhow, give out a phone number. Once that number is out there, anyone can track other info on them.



You're paranoide about a person having more than two accounts I am paranoid, as a female, that my number will be used for other than a verification.





Any female who gives out their phone number to a stranger on the net is asking for trouble......can you honestly say the number given to you on your computer is safe? Even with deleting such info anyone can hack and still get it. Nothing is permanently deleted unless one formats their C drive and even then.......





Anyhow, as stated above, I could set it so I ahve 4, 6, 8 accoutns by using a re-rerouter and family or friends to be the verifier.

Personally I have 2 cell phones, a house phone, 3 normal lines at my lab, 1 business class line, my parents house phone, and their 4 cell phones.



Can I have 24 accounts?

Again, it isn't like I'm "asking" anyone to play, I'm simply inviting them to play. True it is not a pay board, but any novice can grab an ipmasker/changer and run 50 accounts, I limit to 2 per ip, and verify by voice. If a person has a problem with that, then there's an equally simple solution, don't play. Matters not a bit to me one way or another. Why ask why...... Either do or don't. Grins, no loss to me one way or another.









Oh I never planned on playing once you asked for personal info such as a phone number.





I was curious as to why, out of all the boards that are active, you are the ONLY one asking for personal info.



As I stated in another response to you, VERY easy to get around the two per ip...using a re-router and friends or family to verify I could have up to unlimited accouts if one has a large group of friends and or family that wishes to help them out.



I can see kids (since you didn't mention an age min I see teens doing just this) using their friends to have multilple accounts using what I have stated.





And I know you will reply with: Well people have joined....good for them that they are dumb enough to give out personal info...cause there is no way you can guarantee that the personal info won't get into the wrong hands.





I can ONLY assume you are a kid and don't pay attention to the news and the horrors of what happens when personal info gets into the wrong hands.

Heh, turn the heat down a bit Phaedra! I think the point has been made, and while it's well within his right to require digits, I'm also sure he likely won't be facing the lag issues that other boards tend to accrue.

Am curious as it is a free board and asking for such personal info I feel is not necessary.



Dont ya think it'd work better if you gave the port adress for the bbs?

since port 23 doesnt work and its default telnet port

I logged on to this board (After seeing no phone number was needed) and have found it a small realm but very nicely set up.



Leveling can be slow if one only scripts but questing can boost up one's levels real quick. Questing is the name of the game for this realm..:)
