Looks pretty cool, this lady is counter-suing. I like it. Hopefully she wins and sets some kind of precedent so they can't keep pushing people around.

i work in Tualatin, Oregon, where the counter-suer lives.

betcha $50 she won't win, otherwise the courts know there'd be thousands more counter-suings coming up.

Frankly, if she doesn't win, there's something wrong with our legal system. The fact that the RIAA hired a 3rd party to *illegally* scan people's data should be a red flag to anyone concerned with our "constitutional rights". I know quite a few people, overly paranoid for sure, that unplug their computer every night before bed to prevent things such as this. Bottom line, the RIAA overstepped it's authority and broke more than a few laws and for what? To penalize someone who might have downloaded a few CD's worth of music?

Not a single one of the cases that has been in this area (music pirating) has ever had anything to do with penalizing a single person. It's all about precedents. Looks like the precedent that the RIAA was trying to set on someone who looked easy is going to backfire in their faces.
