ok i am going to present my opinion sans flame or bashing, clearly stating y mudrev is the best. i feel inclined to post this cuz ive been to all the other hexed bbs's out there and the only place i play is mudrevs, i hope i shine light into some1 elses eyes and they too can experience the joy that i do every time i see Auto Sensing...



1- ppl at keys. with an average of 40-60 real ppl, 80 or so total with dupes online all day every day, theres shitloads of ppl at keys, usually 10-15. maybe no one else remembers when mud was about interaction with real people and not @exp shit, but thats what makes the game fun. no one wants to get level 20 w/o talkin to ne1.

2- extensive, expansive, equal edits. everything in the realm is not perfectly balanced...yet, but compared to any other board there is more equality and less "short end of the stick" folks.

3- day to day fixes, improvements, innovations and inventions. the shitty thing about legit, besides how slow it is, is that you have to wait weeks or months for even minor bug fixes, and some just never happen at all. im sure all u pvpers still use spir, or whatever. on mudrev if something is fucked up, let ast or miles know and within a day its usually fixed. if a weapon is too powerful, as soon as it is noticed its nerfed, if a weapon is 55 runic and weak as fuck, it gets some power injected. if a race is better than all the others, its gettin fixed, if its shittier, its gettin a bonus or an exp break. all the stuff that needs to get fixed to have a fair and fun game does, which is a slow process cuz metro is a bunch of slackers.

4- user input. mudrev is more of a democracy than anything. any major decision about the bbs (dupes, pvp, instant healer, etc) that is going to affect everyone is posed as a question to every1, and majority wins. i would say that 50% of the race/class/item/spell suggestions are made by users. anyone whos not a douche trying to make their char godly making rediculous suggestions is listened to and a discussion almost always immediately follows, which then leads to the final decision made by a neutral op with balance in mind.

5- non playing ops. this is necessary for a good board, every1 knows that humans are liars and cheaters and thieves and all that shit, its called human nature. ive been an op and i cheated, every playing op ive ever seen has cheated. by cheating i mean doing something only u can do cuz ur an op, and all of u knows this happens.



while these are not all the reasons, this is a good start for a discussion. i didnt flame anyone or any board in this post, so if u wouldnt mind leaving the childeshness out of any response it would b appreciated. i stand ready to argue my points if u have an intelligent response or question.

I agree with a few points, the foremost being the fact that yes, 90% of the time, there are quite a few people live - maybe not always helpful (grin) but live and talking.

This is my 3rd time playing MudRev.

First time it was power lvling hell

second was fend for yourself, and was good

This time with Asta making changes and nerfs, The game is alot slower and more enjoyable.



Since I mentioned Asta. This guy busts his ass keeping up with changes, catches alot of flack, gets chewed out daily about a change(s) and never do I really see a public Thank You. Miles created MudRev, Asta is just making it better.

All this, and I couldn't have said it better myself. i'm White on the board and have played 2 sets now, and Miles knows as well as everyone I haven't seen anything but improvement since I started. Good job Miles, and Astaroth I agree has made a huge impact.

A local friend who plays there can not get on. Hasn't been able to since Sunday afternoon. Since he is too lazy to sign up for the forum (He actually dislikes reading posts etc, silly male) any word on when the board will be back up?



Please no flames as to why I am asking since I dislike the sysop but the guy is handicapped and this is his entertainment so am asking for him.
