Yeah poetry is never truly finished, everytime I re-type a Million Steps I always seem to add or change a line, and even after 10 years it still looks like it's missing something, it just doesn't seem to end right.
It will have finally when I am dead and buried, but them someone will come along and steal my work and change to fit thier own taste. words are words nothing more it is however a creative style, take what you please, and please do take to change to fir your mood.

Here is a link for those of you that have not written any poetry, but want to see a bit of the creative process explained. Poetry is indeed very personal, as is music, and you need to find your own style and flow. However, a bit of guidance never hurts.

It is indeed a way to capture the attention of the reader, but that is also the effect rhyming has on music. I know of many, many great songs that don't rhyme all the way through, and also love many songs that do rhyme most of the lines. The same follows for poetry.
As far as, "...actualization of thought using your imagination and putting it down," I will agree that some of poetry is imaginative. However, mine is not. I draw from personal experience and sometimes use metaphors, but poetry is not all imagination. If that's not what you meant, then I apologize. That also leads back to what I said about language, in that we all have to assume that what everyone else is saying has the same meaning that we attatch to it ourselves.

Blunt; Just for clarification, I think Hobo meant to respond to Delete.
TuPac was a rapper, and a poet. From Delete's, Hobo's and Crazy's posts, it seems like this would be a conflict of interest. Music and poetry are heavily intertwined, which, to me, is quite apparent. Rap and poetry both are ways of expressing emotion, telling a story, or both. They simply do it in their own fashion.
Just my two cents.
