Nero doesn't recognize my Burner anymore [Archive] - ForumsHQ

I've got a generic burner, that for the last 6 months has been working great, then about 2 months ago Nero stopped letting me burn to CDR's it will still burn my RW's and Clone CD still works just fine. But Nero gets to 5% and everything just crashes and I have to do a hard-boot just to eject the cd.



I'm using Nero 5.9.9.9



Anyone have any ideas to what the hell is wrong with Nero?

5.5.10.42 was the latest version in the nero 5 set, or you can try 6.0, tho a few ppl reported problems with 6

I have this same problem with my cendyne burner. One day it just stopped working. Nero doesn't even see it as a burner, but just a generic cd rom. Cendyne doesn't even have firmware for it, and I don't even know what model it is anymore, either. So, now, I just have a glorified cd rom...

if 5.5.10 doesn't work damn I might have to go backwards to like 5.5.4 or farther :( I really hope not, either that or take the POS back and say hey this POS doesn't work anymore either refund or replace it (prefer refund) I can get an LG 52x24x52 for like $69 CDN. Which is about $25 cheaper than what I paid for this generic 32x10x40 less than a year ago.

you have to install ASPI

Nero ASPI or Microsoft ASPI drivers

my aspi drivers are installed. I think I've gotta wipe my OS and reinstall again, but thats 5 hours I dont feel like doing :(
