with other windows NT based OS's...it's best to install Linux first or so I've been told...makes the dual boot setup process much easier.

Just one word of warning. Beware magic, if you make a bigass mistake it can fuck up your drive so you cant get it to load no matter what you do, have to take it in to get it fixed etc.
In reguards to installing, unix doesnt mind being first or last but microshits OS does.
As an example:
I have two harddrives in my comp..One for win2k and one for win98. Well I just got a brand new win2k disc so I decided it was time for a format of the 2k hdd...I forgot that doing that and re-installing 2k onto the first drive, I wouldnt get the screen to choose between win98 and 2k.
So now its either I re-install win98 or before win2k boots, i hit f8 and have my computer boot the win98 on the second drive.
Your boot.ini gets all fuckish

well, i had winxp installed, with 10 gigs unallocated, then installed freebsd and no probs, the freebsd bootloader was able to give me the choice of which to use each time, works fine :thumbu:

I've always installed Windows first, then nix.

The loader from unix doesnt interfer with microshits OS, its a reason why its so nice to install it.
Also freebsd imo is more enjoyable to mess around with than linux except theres alot of programs out there that cant be run on unix :(
