Hey guys, got a question for you. Couldn't find anything much on it in the forums, but maybe I just suck at searching threads.
When editting spells, what is the "Norm Msg Style" option do? It's either yes or no, but I don't know how to handle it.
Does anyone have any sort of tutorial on making complicated spells? I've seen tutorials on room making, and areas and such, but nothing on spells. Anything like this would be a great help. :)
Thanks in advance

i didn't really know but just by looking at spells that have it one way or the other, it looks like spells that are set as "no" have messages that shows only the damage in the cast msg b spot without any user/monster info showing. what i mean is instead of something like "You cast %s at %s for %d damage!" it's just "You cast the spell for %d damage!" it's not always %d though, sometimes it's %s. having the wrong %s/%d can crash your board too, and i don't know 100% when to know to use which. help --> messages is a good guide though.
best thing to do as i say to everyone else, is find a spell that does something similar to what you want to and copy it (doing an insert copys that record to your new one). then make copies of the messages that it refers to as well, and just change the numbers.
