For those of you who don't know what DoorMUD is, it's a brand new MUD game for BBS systems. *The interface and gameplay are somewhat similar to MajorMud, but there are some important differences -- the game is designed to be hand-played (low exp tables, TONS of bosses), and its also much less expensive for a sysop to purchase (์ for the 16-user version).

The DoorMUD web page can be found at http://dmud.thebbs.org -- sysops can download the game here, and players can view maps, item + spell lists, etc.

If you're looking for a board running DoorMUD, to give it a try, here's a few. *Please note that these all have different settings (exp tables and game difficulty are sysop configurable).

Non-WG boards (small but free, and instant access on first call):

Still not convinced? *Here's some more reasons DoorMUD is worth giving a look:

- Creative classes and races... play a Troll Gladiator, a Demon Shaman, or lots of other interesting combinations

- Fast combat rounds (4 seconds)

- Very fast resting -- you won't EVER need to sit around for 5 or 10 minutes just to rest to full

- It's an entirely new game world, not those same old mmud areas you've played to death

- The support web page already has full maps, item lists, and spell lists for players, so learning your way around is easy

- Better system for selling items -- example, you can sell any weapon to any given weapon shop. If it's not something the shop normally stocks, it will delete from the shop at cleanup unless it's rare or limited

- Support for "get all" / "wear all" commands

- "Recall" command for quickly teleporting to town. Don't worry, it can't be abused, since you can't use it in combat.

- Auto-targetting for hostile monsters (example: just type "a", instead of "a orc" )

- Built-in repeat command: Type "=r" or "!" to repeat the last command you typed.

YES! DoorMUD is the _PERFECT_ thing to do while yer bored and dont feel like watching your script, no good movies, friends all out, nothin to do, its awesome, its like a cross between MajorMUD and a Internet MUD, its great, come check it out at Sanctuary.
